Baby News!!!

I have great news!!! Really, really great news!!! My little sister, Deen, and her husband, Riz are expecting their first baby!!! Jim & I are so happy and excited for them... We can't wait to have another nephew or niece to love and pamper, he he he.

I really wish I am there right now. I guess I just have to wait until Deen has the baby before going back to Malaysia.

To Deen & Riz,
Congrats. We know that you both are going to be great parents. Deen, please take a very good care of yourself okay. Kak Yin & Jim love and miss you both very very much!!

Lost

The 4th season of Lost is starting tonight at 7 pm on ABC (channel 15). The powers that be have been promising a more reviting episodes this season. I just hope that they are able to deliver what they promised.

Last season was such a snoozefest that I almost did not want to watch this season. But alas, I am hooked on that show. I have a feeling that this might be the last season for the show and if it is so, I really really really (do you get it? REALLY!) hope that they start explaining all those stuff that was happening on the island. Well, let's hope for a better season this year.

p/s Li, if you want to watch the show, just let me know. I'll hook up my webcam and mike to the tv like we did last season ;-)

Rain

Rain, rain...please stay, come again today (as oppose to rain, rain go away, come again another day).

It rained all day yesterday and it wasn't those typical 5 seconds little droplets desert rain either. It actually rained pretty hard and lasted all day and night, the kind that we get back in Malaysia. It's suppose to rain again today but so far I haven't seen any tho the sky is cloudy.

I miss the rain. You don't get much of it here in the desert, hence the desert...he he he. All four of us (Jim, myself & our 2 boys) were just lazying (if that is even a word) around the house tho the boys do do that everyday he he he. I really hope it's gonna rain again today since I am off of work....yawn.

Well, I better take the garbage out while it's still dry out there....

Baby Shower

The dental side where I work decided to throw a suprise baby shower for one of our hygienist, Aubree, during lunch yesterday. She and her husband, Mark are due to have their first child, a daughter, sometime in March.

We had it all planned out... Melissa & I are to leave the office at about 11:15am to go to Ned's Krazy Sub (we eat there all the time and it's also Aubree's favorite sub place) so that we can decorate a couple of tables there with baby stuff. Valerie had asked Aubree out for lunch @ noon on the premise of celebrating Aubree's birthday, which was last week (the day after mine he he he), so that Aubree wouldn't suspect that we are up to something.

Well, Melissa & I did leave when we were supposed to. We had everything (Melissa even baked the cake the night before) except for the balloons which we thought we could get at the $1 store next to Ned's. Ha ha... when we got to the S1 store, they don't have any!!! So, we had to go up a couple of streets to the party store to get the balloons. Well, when we got there, the guy was in the middle of filling another order so we had to wait our turn even though we only had 5 balloons to blow up. By then it was too late for us to go somewhere else so we waited. Anyways, after about 15 minutes (seems longer than that), we finally got the balloons and rushed back to Ned's to try and make it there before Aubree does so that we can finish decorating.

It was kinda funny to see us in the car. Melissa was driving so I had the responsibility of keeping the balloons from blocking her view as well as making sure that the cake (which was laying in a pan on the back seat) didn't go flying every time Melissa makes a turn or brakes.

Of course when you are in a hurry, everything else seems to so slow down. We got stuck behind a couple of snowbirds driving maybe 30 mph so when we got back to Ned's Aubree was already there with the rest of the gals. She still didn't suspect anything when she saw the rest of the gals were there too. She just thought that maybe everyone decided to eat at Ned's that day. She finally realized that it was a baby shower for her when she saw me carrying the balloons and cake to the table and Melissa had the decorations.

Anyways, we had fun for the next 1 1/2 hours we were there. Aubree received lots of baby goodies. Unfortunately, it went too fast and we had to go back to work... Here are some pics that I took at the shower. Of course, I am again missing from any of the pics since I was the photographer.....

Baby Got Back

I was reading a fellow blogger's blog and somehow the subject on badonkadonk came up. Not gonna say who it was to protect the identity of the blogger but you know who you are...he he he. Anyways, the song "Baby Got Back" came into my mind so I went seaching on YouTube for the song and lyric. So, here's from one badonkadonk to another.... Enjoy!! LOL

"Masih Aku Terasa" - Gersang

Adus....I was surfing YouTube earlier and came across this video. Boy, oh boy, it brings back memories...LOL. Lagu popular zaman I kat MRSM Taiping dulu. Used to have a crush on Man Bai. Wonder where he is now... Bai, Man Bai...where are you?.....

"Stealth"

I finally saw the movie "Stealth" last night on TNT (channel 26). The movie actually came out at the theater in 2005 but I never saw it until last night. To tell you the truth, I was glad I did not spend US$8 to watch it at the theater coz it sucked.

The movie had 3 pretty good actors in the main role, Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel & Jamie Foxx. Jamie Foxx had just won an Oscar for the movie "Ray" when "Stealth" came out. The premise of the movie is the same old "machine against human" stuff. In this particular situation our actors were aces in the navy and a new stealth fighterplane is being "tested". As always, the plane was given a "brain" and lo and behold, it starts to use its brain and wreck havoc. Our 3 heroes & heroin have to "fight" & destroy the fighterplane before it destroys us.... blah blah blah blah.....

So, instead of watching this movie, you are better off watching :

* "Sweet Home Alabama" - Josh Lucas is so cute in this movie (& so was McDreamy aka Patrick Demsey)
* "Ray" - Jamie Foxx play Ray Charles and won an Oscar for this role
* "The Illusionist" - Jessica Biel was in this movie but Edward Norton & Paul Giamatti are the ones you want to watch

Gemuruh

Bila bertalu rentak dikalbu
Hasrat yang tersirat semakin kuburu
Bila bergema laungan gempita
Harapan bernyala nadiku berganda

Gemuruh jiwa semangat membara
Dari puncak ingin ke angkasa
Berkalungkan bintang berkelipan
Menyerla jauh dari yang biasa

Bila tertalu rentak dikalbu
Hasrat yang tersirat semakin kuburu
Bila bergema laungan gempita
Harapan bernyala nadiku berganda

Gemuruh jiwa semangat membara
Dari puncak ingin ke angkasa
Berkalungkan bintak berkelipan
Menyerlah jauh dari yang biasa

Ungkapan inibukan sekadar bermimpi

Segalanya pastikan terbukti nanti

Gemuruh jiwa semangat membara
Dari puncak ingin ke angkasa
Berkalungkan bintang berkelipan
Meryerlah jauh dari yang biasa

Happy Birthday Wan Ma

Today would have been my aunt, Wan Ma (Raja Hjh Noor Izma) who is also my godmother's, 57th birthday. Alas, she was taken away from us on February 7, 1999 (which also happens to be my other aunt's birthday) due to breast cancer. I miss her very much.

When she was alive, we used to celebrate our birthdays together since mine is tomorrow, January 14. We are exactly 20 years apart in age. She used to take me to these fancy restaurants to celebrate our birthdays and make a day out of it. The restaurants I don't miss...what I miss the most is her!!!

My 2 favorite shows, "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" & "The Colbert Report" is back on air last night. Yipeeeee!!! Both shows have been on reruns since early November when the Writer's Guild of America went on strike.

I just love these 2 shows... Looks like I'll be staying up late again...

"Four Weddings & a Funeral"

I woke up at about 6:30am this morning and decided to rewatched "Bourne Ultimatum" to see if I can catch all the clues that I missed the first time around. After that movie ended and as I was putting away the DVD to be returned to Blockbuster, my eyes fell onto our personal DVD collection and spotted the movie "Four Weddings & a Funeral" and decided that I want to watch it too.

Not sure why really.... I've watched this movie a gazillion times, at least once a year on the anniversary of our first date. See, this was the movie we went to see on our first date almost 14 years ago. It is one of my favorite movies and like most of my other favorite movies, I tend to watch them over and over again. Jim likes the movie too but he'll only watch it on our anniversary coz he said it s "chick's" movie ;-)

Anyway, getting a little hungry now...better go see what the boys are up to...

"Bourne Ultimatum"

Just finished watching "Bourne Ultimatum" a few minutes ago. It was pretty good tho I do like the first one, "Bourne Identity" the best. There was a lot action in this movie, even more so than the first 2. I do like the movie but was a little disappointed with the ending. They never really show what made him decide to join the "training". And the way the movie ended, looks like they might make a 4th one if Matt Damon wants to. All in all, I would recommend the movie...

P/S I do think Matt Damon is a very good actor.

"Waitress"

We had the family over today for New Year's which we always do every year. Made kurma ayam with daging hitam manis (my mom's receipe) as well as papadum & mixed veggies. Glad to say that everyone liked the food.

We also watched the movie "Waitress" today. It was an independent movie starring Keri Russell ("Felicity"). Really good movie, I recommend anyone to see it. Keri Russell plays a waitress who works in a pie dinner owned by Joe (Andy Griffith) and is stuck in an unhappy marriage and just found out that she's pregnant. The movie shows how she deals with her marriage and her "relationship" with her unborn baby. The movie is very good but the best part I like about it is all the pies that she bakes. Man, they look so good... my mouth was watering...he he he

Hemm, thinking about that pie makes me think of the blueberry cobbler that my mother in law brought for us. We still have about half a pan left in the fridge. I think I'm going to go have a slice...

Catch later.....

Karsen Singing

This is a YouTube video of our little niece, Karsen, singing. It was in the middle of the night, that's why the video is a little dark.

p/s That is my sister in law sitting in the background and the voice of her husband.
