"The Savages"

We just finished watching the movie "The Savages" on DVD. It was really good. Though the movie was categorized as a comedy, it was more serious and sad than it is a comedy. It is a story about 2 siblings, John (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) and Wendy (Laura Linney), who had to take care of their ailing dad (Phillip Bosco).

The movie shows the relationship between the siblings and their father and how they deal with death. It was a very good movie, so watch it if you can.

Hi Shirin, took a wrong turning somewhere landed here. Nice blog you have.
I have not seen this move 'Savages', but remember Phillip Seymour....he acted in 'scent of a woman'...seen this movie several times on TV.
He's put on so much weight now.
Can see you love movies...
You seen these oldies, "Love is a many splendoured thing'? Or 'Madam X'?
Ohh, I love that movie, 'Nottinghill', 'Pretty woman' and my all time favourite is 'Casablanca'...seen it more than 20 times on TV all these years.
You stay easy and have a nice day, Lee.

Hi Lee,
Thank you for visiting :-). I don't even remember that Phillip Seymour Hoffman was in "Scent of a Woman" until you mentioned it. He was really good in "The Savages".

Yeah my hubby & I are movie buffs. I've heard of "Madam X" but never watch it...

Well, come again any time. Any comments are appreciated.

Take care
Shirin
